We are an independent, agriculture-focused consulting company. Since 1981, we have been working for public and private clients in Germany and abroad. In the field of international development cooperation, we specialize in promoting sustainable agriculture and food security. On behalf of public and private institutions, we plan, implement, and evaluate projects across Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.

To strengthen our team, we are currently looking for a deputy project lead for agri-food systems transformation (m/f/d). The technical focus lies on policy advisory and capacity strengthening of political institutions and subordinated bodies.

Your profile:

  • Completed university degree, preferably related to agriculture/agricultural policy
  • At least 5 years of professional experience
  • Very good command of English
  • Professional experience in agricultural reform, policy development and implementation, and organizational development in Africa
  • Profound knowledge of the European/German agricultural sector and policy

Other (beneficial) qualifications/experience that are positively evaluated:

Regional expertise and language skills:

  • Experience in institutional consulting and project implementation in Africa
  • Knowledge of French

Methodological competence:

  • Moderation and presentation skills
  • Experience in organizational development and coaching
  • Ability to prepare studies and guidelines
  • Competence in knowledge management
  • Experience in organizing study trips and conferences

Your tasks:

  • Supporting the team leader
  • Providing technical and strategic advice to political partners in the conception and implementation of policy and technical dialogues, especially by facilitating knowledge (experts) exchange between the EU/Germany and the African continent
  • Organizing and preparing working group meetings, conferences, and seminars
  • Collecting and documenting relevant data, information, and materials
  • Training and coaching of staff in agricultural policy advisory work
