We are an independent, agriculture-focused consulting firm. Since 1981, we have been working for public and private clients in Germany and abroad. In the field of international development cooperation, we specialize in promoting sustainable agriculture and food security.

IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH is looking for an experienced specialist with proven expertise in coffee production, operational consulting, and team management for a multi-year coffee project in Angola. The project aims to rehabilitate the coffee sector, professionalize local production systems, and train Angolan multipliers along the 13 Pilares de Boas Práticas Agrícolas.

Your tasks:

  • Technical management and implementation of consulting and training measures in the field of coffee cultivation (Robusta and Arabica)
  • Consulting commercial enterprises and larger fazendas on cultivation, propagation, stock building, seedling quality, nutrient management, and production optimization
  • Establishment and monitoring of demonstration areas and support for local partners in the implementation of sustainable, internationally compatible cultivation practices
  • Participation in the development and implementation of a training and further education concept for INCA technical specialists and selected pilot farms
  • Technical support in the analysis of production systems, including evaluation of yields, costs, operational processes, and marketing structures
  • Close cooperation with the National Coffee Research Institute (INCA), authorities, fazendas, and other project partners
  • Management of small teams, coordination of local employees, and coordination of operational measures with German and Angolan project structures

Your qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the coffee sector, ideally with a focus on cultivation, inventory management, seedling propagation, or agronomic consulting
  • Proven experience in consulting commercial agricultural companies
  • Practical experience in training and continuing education in good agricultural practices
  • Strong ability to plan and implement complex work processes in intercultural contexts
  • Leadership experience or experience in coordinating technical teams
  • Fluent Portuguese (or alternatively Spanish) AND German
  • Experience in sub-Saharan Africa is desirable
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Angola and to work in rural areas
