Team Leader – EU-China Agricultural Cooperation (m/f/d)
We are an independent, agriculture-focused consulting company. Since 1981, we have been working for public and private clients in Germany and abroad. In the field of international development cooperation, we specialize in promoting sustainable agriculture and food security. On behalf of public and private institutions, we plan, implement, and evaluate projects across Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.
To strengthen our team, we are currently looking for a Team Leader (m/f/d) to support the EU-China Agricultural Cooperation in an upcoming EU project. The project is expected to facilitate a policy exchange between the EU and China on agricultural cooperation, geographical indications, cooperation on wine and spirits, as well as market access.
Your profile:
Qualifications and skills:
- University degree at Master’s level (or equivalent) in a discipline relevant to this assignment (e.g., Law, Agriculture, Rural Development, Geography, China Studies, Public Policies, Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Business Administration), or, in its absence, a degree at Bachelor’s level (or equivalent) and an additional five years of related experience in addition to the minimum number of years of general professional experience
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- High proficiency of both written and spoken English (at least C1)
- Good command of Chinese will be considered an asset (at least B1)
General professional experience:
- At least 6 years of experience in researching and analyzing agri-food-related topics
Specific professional experience:
- Experience in leading a team
- Experience in the promotion of Geographical Indications (GIs) and/or
- The interconnection between the EU agrifood industry and the Chinese market, including activities in one or more of the following areas: trade promotion, market access, branding, consumer awareness, or promotional campaigns, or
- Experience in research or analytical studies, conference or workshop presentations, reports or other written deliverables, or the organization or management of events or campaigns related to GIs and/or the interconnection between the EU agrifood industry and the Chinese market, e.g., trade promotion, market access, branding, consumer awareness
The following professional experiences will be considered an asset:
- Professional experience related to the Chinese agro-industry (production, processing, distribution, marketing/promotion, and/or regulatory/legal aspects)
- Practical experience with EU procedures applicable to service contracts
- Experience in the organization and management of professional events (e.g., fairs, conferences, workshops, seminars, promotional events, study visits)
