GAA business meeting with Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Agriculture: IAK presents GreenSphere Alliance Program and offers trade advice

The business meeting

On May 15, 2025, the German Agribusiness Alliance (GAA) welcomed the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Tran Thanh Nam, to a meeting at the Haus der Deutschen Wirtschaft in Berlin. As part of the business forum, representatives of German companies – including IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH (IAK), a member of the GAA – discussed prospects and concrete approaches for intensifying bilateral cooperation in agricultural and food production with the Vietnamese delegation.

IAK presented the GreenSphere Alliance Program, an investment project of MBM Groups International Holding aimed at sustainable agriculture, climate adaptation, and bioeconomic innovations in Vietnam. Focal points include climate-resilient rice cultivation, the development of CO₂ certificate trading, the circular economy, sustainable construction and energy solutions, and the promotion of high-quality food exports.

In addition, IAK offered the Vietnamese delegation its support in exporting Vietnamese food to the EU and importing European products to Vietnam. The aim is to provide Vietnamese stakeholders with expert advice on trade issues, certifications, market requirements and logistics processes and to promote concrete partnerships.

Conclusion

Vietnam is striving for greater economic cooperation with Germany, also against the backdrop of a free trade agreement with the EU that has been little used to date and given increasingly difficult trade relations with the USA. The Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Agriculture showed particular interest in our project, especially regarding circular economy and CO₂ certificate trading.
