IAK starts new phase of APD Brazil
Brazil is Germany's most important economic partner in South America and a major player in global agriculture. Thanks to its natural resources and agricultural production, the Latin American country offers great potential for sustainable and innovative agroecological approaches.
We are pleased to announce that IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH has been implementing Phase 2 of the German-Brazilian Agricultural Policy Dialogue funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) since July 2024. The new phase builds on previous successes and aims to intensify cooperation between Germany and Brazil and further consolidate the results achieved. The aim of the APD's second phase is to improve the framework conditions for a sustainable and agroecological agricultural sector in Brazil through deeper understanding and close cooperation between German and Brazilian experts and managers.
Planned outcomes include the rehabilitation of degraded pastureland, the promotion of the right to food and ensuring deforestation-free supply chains and traceability systems. The project relies on comprehensive dialogue and cooperation between political, scientific and civil society actors in both countries. The focus is on involving all relevant stakeholders and adapting the content to Brazil's agricultural policy priorities and reform plans. Through the bilateral exchange of experience and knowledge, we strive for close and equal cooperation between Germany and Brazil to develop and implement sustainable and innovative solutions for the agricultural policy challenges of both countries.
In the new project phase, our existing local team will be supplemented by new members. This continuity and addition will enable us to build on the successful cooperation to date and respond optimally to the upcoming challenges of the project.
