Welcome, Sven Gehlhaar!

Mr. Gehlhaar holds a Dipl.-Wirtschaftsingenieur (FH) and a M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences. He is a proven expert in market system development and has worked primarily in the following value chains from seed to marketing and export: Quinoa, tuber crops, dairy products, tropical and non-tropical fruits, cacao, coffee, cotton, amaranth and pulses.

In addition to projects in tourism promotion, urban development, and vocational training, Mr. Gehlhaar has also promoted digitization and the use of AI in the agricultural sector in recent years. In doing so, he primarily pursues systemic approaches, some of which he has helped to develop or refine. As an environmental scientist, he has also helped to develop and implement a wide range of innovations for climate and environmental protection in the agricultural sector.

During numerous stays abroad, Mr. Gehlhaar has continuously broadened his professional experience and intercultural competencies. He has worked in Latin America (Guatemala, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua), Africa (Mozambique, Zambia and South Africa) and Asia (Nepal, Cambodia and Thailand). Until June of this year, Mr. Gehlhaar worked for eleven years for the renowned Swiss foundation Swisscontact in Latin America.
