The aim of the project is to contribute to strengthening economic and political relations between the six Western Balkan countries Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia. The countries are supported in the EU accession process on the topic of agriculture by advising representatives of their ministries of agriculture on the alignment of national wine regulations with each other and with applicable EU standards.

The regular exchange on wine regulation contributes to regional integration. In addition, the project approach has a model function for other, also non-agricultural sectors.

The local project implementer is the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) of South Eastern Europe, in particular its Regional Wine Working Group. The international consulting contribution is implemented by IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH in consortium with Geisenheim University.
