Business development and market analysis for the establishment of a dairy farm in Azerbaidzhan

The project aimed to plan and gradually develop a mixed agricultural operation with several locations.
IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH developed concepts for cash crop, fodder, fattening and milk production and also planned the construction of a fodder mixing plant. Modern technologies such as GIS, GPS and telemetry as well as efficient irrigation strategies were integrated. National and international specialists were also recruited.
IAK provided technical advice, accompanied all project phases and supported the implementation on site. The project participants analyzed potential locations and examined their suitability in terms of land availability, cultivation conditions and marketing opportunities. Suitable crops and varieties were selected for plant cultivation and site-specific cultivation systems were developed. Stable facilities, milk production and cattle fattening were planned on a technical and economic basis for animal husbandry.
In addition, recommendations were made for the targeted use of state-of-the-art agricultural technology, a long-term viable technology strategy and suitable financing models were developed, profitability and liquidity were analyzed, and opportunities and risks were evaluated with the help of sensitivity analyses.
A structured business plan with realistic time planning and clear implementation stages served as the economic basis. In addition, measures were recommended for the genetic structure of the herd and the reproduction strategy.
Stable facilities, milk production and cattle fattening were planned for animal husbandry on a technical and economic basis.
