To help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in partner countries become resilient to the impacts of climate change, GIZ has developed the Climate Expert approach. The Excel-based tool is used to raise awareness, identify individual and context-specific climate risks of SMEs, and develop robust adaptation strategies.

Through a global call-off contract, bilateral GIZ projects can take advantage of a consulting service on the application of the Climate Expert Tool. Various activities are offered: training of consultants and partners, implementation of accompanying measures, on-the-job training, targeted marketing measures, and further development of the Climate Expert approach and tool.
