As part of the Indo-German Green and Sustainable Development Partnership (GSDP), the project supports the Indian government in further developing evidence-based climate adaptation strategies. The key partner is the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog), the Indian government’s strategic planning agency.

The project aims to strengthen institutional capacities for climate adaptation modeling and adaptation financing at the national and subnational levels. To this end, international best practices are being systematically integrated into Indian planning and financing processes.

Consulting services:

  1. Design and implementation of structured international exchange formats: development of a strategic exchange concept, facilitation of an international expert visit, organization of a technical workshop in India, and design and delivery of hybrid training formats on adaptation modeling and financing
  2. Design of a national climate data repository: Development of an architecture and governance blueprint for a national climate data platform, including data mapping, integration of existing modeling tools, design of an adaptation finance module, and creation of a scalable implementation roadmap

The project thus contributes to the structural embedding of climate risk analysis, financing prioritization, and evidence-based investment planning within the Indian adaptation context.

The consulting component is led by EarthYield Advisories GbR, with IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH providing selective support.
