IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH carried out a business analysis of a mixed agricultural business in Portugal. The aim was to objectively assess the current performance, profitability and development potential of the farm and to create a sound basis for a possible change of ownership. At the same time, IAK examined whether and how the farm could be vertically integrated into an existing group of companies for food production and marketing.
The focus was on evaluating key production and husbandry figures in dairy farming, meat production and crop production. IAK analyzed the profitability of the business on the basis of relevant key business figures. Significant opportunities, risks and obstacles were identified as part of a due diligence review.
In addition, IAK assessed the structural substance of the business premises and developed proposals for their functional development. Management structures, controlling processes and personnel management were also put to the test.
Finally, the team drew up concrete proposals for the further development of individual branches of the business, defined short-term measures and assessed the medium-term site potential. The composition and appropriateness of the purchase price were also analyzed.
