Digitalization of key figure evaluation for milk production
Funding code: EP201414
Funding program: The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) on the basis of the decision of the German Bundestag and the Central Innovation Program for SMEs (ZIM-FuE individual project).

Milk production is a key success factor for many farms. To meet the increasing demands, IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH has launched a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). The aim is to digitize and further improve the evaluation of key figures for dairy farms.
The project makes it possible to combine production and business figures from various data sources via digital interfaces. This allows the participating farms in the IAK Milk Working Group to analyze their key performance indicators comprehensively on a monthly basis. In addition, farms can compare themselves anonymously with other participants to identify further optimization potential.
Digitalization enables data to be analyzed and interpreted more efficiently to gain insights for improving production processes. Particular attention is being paid to the development of a user-friendly dashboard that not only provides clear overviews of key figures, but also generates individualized suggestions for improvement.
The project addresses key challenges in milk production such as fluctuating milk prices, sustainability and increasing demands on animal welfare and environmental compatibility. The collection and cleansing of extensive data sets creates a basis on which algorithms for analyzing key figures can be built.
