Sub-area specific sowing for maize
The project aims to make recommendations for action to support Saxon agriculture to increase the degree of practical introduction of the method of site-specific sowing in maize. These recommendations will also identify potential partners and media for developing and communicating the necessary content.
For the implementation of the project, the offers available on the market are to be recorded and characterized. For visualization purposes, application maps created by three providers will be compared in detail based on selected criteria. Finally, these findings will be used to create a system for comparing the offers.
In addition to presenting the current state of knowledge, a survey will be conducted among Saxon farms to determine the status quo of site-specific sowing in maize. By comparing the results of the survey with those of the previous work, the need for action for a targeted application of this sowing method in routine agricultural operations is to be identified.
The project is implemented by IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH. On the website of the Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology (LfULG) you will find our technical article (in German).
