IAK expands support for Ukraine

Sven Gehlhaar, Managing Director, and Syman Jurk, Team Leader International Consulting, both IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH, met with important stakeholders from business and politics during the visit to APD Ukraine, which was funded by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and implemented by IAK. The focus was on an exchange on the future development of the Ukrainian agricultural and food sector.

The main topics were the current challenges for small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises, the fears, but also the expectations of the agricultural sector regarding EU accession and the associated trade opportunities, as well as the needs of the public sector in terms of technical and professional support.

Even though the current situation in the country is extremely difficult, the stakeholders are very optimistic that they will be able to cope with the extensive tasks that Ukraine will face in the coming years. IAK supports them in this – among other things in the APD Ukraine project, which has been helping to shape the agricultural sector in Ukraine since 2006.
