Climate adaptation starts with better information. As climate risks become increasingly complex, decision-makers require more precise and localized data. At the International Dialogue on Climate Adaptation Modelling in India, IAK helped shape discussions on the future of climate-informed investment planning and resilience building.

On 23 September 2026, the Southeast European Conference on Organic Markets brought together policymakers, organic producers, traders, importers, certification experts and sector organisations in Chișinău, Moldova. The conference provided a regional platform to strengthen organic value chains, facilitate access to EU markets and deepen cooperation between Southeast Europe and European partners.

On 29 September, the International Day of Awareness of Food Losses and Food Waste draws attention to a global challenge. Valuable food and resources are lost throughout the entire value chain. The BayWa AgriFood Corporate Day 2026 focused on future prospects and global trends in the agri-food sector. Over 20 start-ups from Germany, France and the Netherlands, as well as leading companies, presented innovations in pitch and reverse-pitch sessions, supported by a global perspective on production, trade and export markets provided by IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH. The keynote speech outlined strategic approaches for greater sustainability, resilience and food security.

As part of a feasibility study, IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH assessed the site for a proposed 100-ha agricultural investment project in Ogun State, Nigeria. Discussions with representatives from government, academia, agriculture, and the agricultural value chain provided valuable insights for the project's next development phase.

As part of his visit to China, Alois Rainer also visited the Beijing project office of the Sino-German Agricultural Centre (DCZ), which is implemented by IAK. The visit marked the first by a Federal Minister of Agriculture since the DCZ was established in 2015 and highlights the importance of German-Chinese cooperation in the agricultural sector.

In collaboration with its partners, IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH is developing innovative solutions to recruit, train, and integrate new workers into the agricultural sector in Central Germany as part of the “LAND.VISION – AgrarJob-Pilot” project, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR).

During the visit of a high-level Chinese delegation to IAK in Leipzig, current developments in European and Chinese soil policy as well as innovative approaches in soil and environmental protection were at the center of the professional exchange.
