New equipment for the National Forest Inventory of Ukraine

With funds from the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), the consortium Unique land use GmbH and IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH has procured technical equipment for data collection and evaluation of the National Forest Inventory in Ukraine as part of the jointly implemented project "Sustainable Forest Implementation" funded by the BMEL.

This equipment has now been handed over by Sven Gehlhaar, Managing Director, and Syman Jurk, Team Leader International Consulting, both IAK, to our Ukrainian colleague Vitaliy Storozhuk, leading expert for the National Forest Inventory of Ukraine in the project, in Kiev in the presence of Frank Müller, Agricultural Attaché of the German Embassy Kiev.

The equipment complements the material resources procured in 2019, which have enabled the Ukrainian partners in the forest inventory in Ukraine to collect data terrestrially as well as to carry out and evaluate complementary methods such as remote sensing-based inventory procedures.
