Forestry policy and forest management

In order to be able to hand over healthy, resilient, species-rich and livelihood-securing forests to the next generation, the social, ecological and economic sustainability factors must always be kept in mind. Currently, the greatest challenges facing forest policy and forest management are primarily pest infestations, extreme weather events and adaptation to climate change.

Together with our partners, we work in international projects on forest policy advice, efficient forest management and sustainable, multifunctional forest management. For example, we use German and European experience to support the establishment of efficient and sustainable forest policy and management, including the relevant administrative processes. We are also involved in the preparations for a national forest inventory.
