Delegation trip through Argentina

In the project German-Argentinean Dialogue on Sustainable Agricultural Innovation, which IAK is implementing on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMEL), the first meeting of the project steering group with the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and the Argentinean Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (MAGyP) was held in Buenos Aires in early July. The IAK project team in Argentina took this as an opportunity to organize a trip through the provinces of Córdoba and Santa Fe – important venues of agricultural innovation and public-private innovation support in Argentina – as well as to Buenos Aires.

The members of the German-Argentine delegation came from MAGyP, the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA), provincial governments, the German Embassy in Argentina, GFA Consulting Group GmbH and IAK. They visited exemplary farms, as well as the Rosario Grain Exchange and the biotechnology company Bioceres. IAK signed a memorandum of understanding with each of the provincial governments of Córdoba and Santa Fe, thus laying the foundation for intensive cooperation within the framework of the German-Argentinean Dialogue and beyond. In the Argentine capital Buenos Aires, the delegation was invited to a reception at the German Embassy, where Ambassador Dr. Ulrich Sante and Matías Lestani, Argentine Secretary of State for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, also spoke.

After a week of dialogue with various stakeholders at the national and provincial levels, the project steering group meeting was held on 8 Jul 2022, where, among other things, the work plan for the next twelve months was approved. We are now looking forward to putting the joint plans into action and thus contributing to sustainable agriculture and mutual dialogue at eye level.
