GIZ follow-up contract for food security in Burkina Faso

Since 2018, Health Focus GmbH from Potsdam and IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH have been jointly implementing part of the GIZ project "Food security and resilience strengthening in Burkina Faso". Now, following a call for tenders, the consortium has been commissioned to implement the follow-up phase until mid-2025.

The project is part of the global project "Securing Food, Strengthening Resilience to Hunger Crises", which is being implemented in ten countries and is part of the special initiative "One World without Hunger". The aim is to help mothers and young children improve and diversify their diets. It takes a multi-sectoral approach, integrating food production and processing, health, behavior, crisis preparedness and hygiene, among others.

Our team works in southwestern Burkina Faso at the micro and meso levels, for example, in hygiene awareness campaigns, hands-on workshops on producing pre-roasted fortified flour blends, training for government health services, and integrating the nutrition issue into community policies.
