interpack 2023: IAK meets with Vietnamese bioplastics company

For the first time since Corona, interpack, the international trade fair for packaging, took place again in Düsseldorf at the beginning of May. Eight sectors were represented: Food, Beverages, Confectionery, Bakery, Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics, Non-Food and Industrial Goods. The main themes of this year's fair were circular economy, resource conservation, digital technologies and product safety.

Interest in the returning fair was high on both sides: about 2,800 exhibitors from all over the world presented the latest technologies and solutions for packaging to around 143,000 international visitors from 155 countries.

In this context, Sven Gehlhaar, Managing Director of IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH, met with representatives of the Vietnamese company An Phat Bioplastics. An Phat Bioplastics produces biodegradable bags and films – and the demand in Germany for biodegradable packaging alternatives is growing, especially against the background of the climate targets that Germany has set itself. The joint discussions therefore explored how exports of these bio-plastic products to Germany can be intensified.
