Leaders of the Mongolian Ministry of Agriculture on a study tour in Germany

This year, numerous international visitors were finally able to visit the GFFA and IGW in person again. To mark the occasion, the German-Mongolian Cooperation Project on Sustainable Agriculture (DMKNL), which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), organised a study trip to Germany for executives from the Mongolian Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry (MoFALI) to intensify the agricultural exchange between the two countries.

During their study tour, the Mongolian guests visited, among other places, the Brodowin organic village near Berlin and the organic market garden Watzkendorf GmbH in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. There they got to know the entire operation, especially how high-quality agricultural products are produced and marketed organically.

Another highlight was the visit to the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomics (ATB) in Potsdam. The projects "Smart Farming: Use of a sensor platform to record soil properties" and "Renewable raw materials: Hemp for fibre crop processing" were presented.

During their trip, the Mongolian guests gained very interesting insights into current agricultural research, which is looking for sustainable solutions to the many challenges with regard to climate, agriculture and food.
