Sino-German Agricultural Center (DCZ), Phase 3

The Sino-German Agricultural Centre (DCZ) in Beijing serves as the central contact point, information hub, and coordination platform for bilateral cooperation between Germany and China in the agricultural and food sectors. By establishing a dialogue platform for agricultural topics of mutual interest, the Centre aims to strengthen cooperation on sustainable, environmentally and climate-friendly agriculture and food systems, while also promoting the development of vibrant rural areas. Another key objective of the project is to develop overarching, innovative principles and strategic guidelines for the transition towards sustainable, environmentally and climate-friendly agriculture and food systems. An intensified technical dialogue on priority topics is intended to strengthen exchange between expert organizations and lead to jointly developed solutions and policy recommendations. Furthermore, the project promotes scientific cooperation between German and Chinese applied research institutions to advance and disseminate practical solutions for sustainable, environmentally and climate-friendly agriculture and food systems.

In line with the new strategic orientation of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH), economic cooperation has also become an increasingly important focus. As a neutral platform for information exchange and dialogue, the DCZ facilitates networking, technical exchange, and cooperation between institutions and companies from both countries. It also provides a forum for market dialogue on trade and economic issues in the agricultural and food sectors.

The IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH is the lead partner in the consortium with the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO).
